The spa’s own spreadsheets and documents became a site with 138 treatment pages, in English and Arabic.

What I did
Web design, Development, Content migration, Image art direction
Client
Women’s spa and slimming lounge, Abu Dhabi
The Skin Care department page on a phone: the title “Skin Care”, a short description and the treatment count on a full blush field, above a close-up of a cheekbone with a single drop of serum.

A box of documents, not a brief

The spa sent a map of the site, a price sheet and 60 treatment documents in English and Arabic, and no treatment photos. I matched them up by hand once, and a script built every treatment page from them.

The Moroccan Bath with Herbs treatment page on a phone: a large title and description on a linen field, then a “Book this treatment” panel with a Call to book button and a link to the price list.

The menu, not the price tag

The spa wanted prices kept off the treatment pages. So every price lives on one page, set like the menu you are handed at a spa.

The price list on a phone: the Slimming heading, then Muscle Stimulation and Fat Reduction treatments, each joined to its “From” price by a dotted leader.

Read right to left

Every page exists in English and Arabic, and the Arabic one mirrors the layout. On the home page even the photograph flips. I also wrote the Arabic treatment names the documents didn’t have.

The English home page on a phone: the headline “Sculpt your life!” over the brand photograph, with Explore treatments and Call to book buttons.
The Arabic home page on a phone, mirrored: the photograph is flipped and the Arabic headline and buttons sit on the right.
The hero photograph comes from the spa’s brand identity.

Old addresses, rebuilt

The old site had already been deleted, so I rebuilt its address list from the Wayback Machine. About 145 old addresses are mapped to their new pages, ready for the day the domain moves over.

  • Old address/ourspa.aspxis mapped to/en/about
  • Old address/slimming-treatments.aspxis mapped to/en/services/slimming
  • Old address/spa-type/skin-careis mapped to/en/services/skin-care
  • Old address/العناية-بالبشرة.aspxis mapped to/ar/services/skin-care
  • Old address/spa-type/nail-careis mapped to/en/services/nail-spa
  • Old address/تقليمالاظافر.aspxis mapped to/ar/services/nail-spa

138 pictures that did not exist

There were no treatment photos, so I wrote a shot note for every treatment and art-directed an AI image of each one. They hold the place, in one warm style, until the spa’s own photographs arrive.

All 138 treatment images tiled in one wall: facials, brows, hair, nails, hammam and massage scenes in the same warm cream, blush and copper light.
All 138 treatment images. AI art direction, not photographs of the spa.

Five skins, six departments

Each department wears one tone from the brand’s five skin swatches, as on the spa’s site. Open a band to see a wall of its treatment images, then read the strip in Arabic.

What changed

The site runs on a preview address with launch prep done, waiting only on the spa’s own inputs.

  • 138 treatment pages, none retyped

Plus 6 departments, 25 treatment groups and 74 FAQs, built from the spa’s own spreadsheets and documents through a mapping I checked by hand.

  • Launch prep done in 10 days

Every department, treatment and marketing page was up within four days of the first commit. Search setup, redirects and accessibility fixes were done by day ten.

  • 92 to 95 on phones

Google’s Lighthouse speed score on phones for the home, department and treatment pages, with 100 for accessibility. Measured on the preview site, September 2026.

  • Edits live in about a minute

The spa’s staff can edit English and Arabic side by side, with a plain-language guide. A monthly offer appears and expires on its own dates.
